Our summer courses will be concluded with an opera production.

As a follow up of the IBA-summer course Opera Noord will realize one or more performances of their own choosing in Dutch theaters. Participation in the IBA-summer course might entail a role in this production or as many roles that can be cast. Depending on the financial possibilities, the opera will be executed with piano or orchestra.

“Cooperation with the International Belcanto Academy (IBA)”

The IBA assists young graduates’ vocalists on their way to the Dutch, German and other international opera stages as well as working with established professionals, already singing in theaters and wanting to learn a new role before trying it out in a major theater. To this end, it organizes a number of master classes, courses and summer training studio.

Our stage director, Nelly Vogler, is a teacher of scenic training associated with this course.
She also works with the participants in rehearsing an opera chosen by the IBA and opera Noord.
The course ends with a semi-staged performance.
